The Flashback To Meeting Keagan Again

December 9th, 2010

I walk over to the fridge, and pull out a carton of milk. I pour myself a glass, and go sit down at my table. I begin to eat my bowl of cereal that I had made for myself. Brandon is sitting on the couch, probably thinking. I see him get up.

Brandon Macdonald
Hey Anna

Anna Macdonald
Yeah Brandon?

Brandon Macdonald
There's something that I need to do today

Anna Macdonald
What's that? You know I have a lot to do today

Brandon Macdonald
I know. It's something that I have to do alone

Anna Macdonald
What's that?

Brandon Macdonald
I need to go find Keagan

I look up at him from the newspaper that I am reading

Anna Macdonald
I'm not sure how good an idea that is

Brandon Macdonald
I know. But I need to do it. She's the last person that I need to try and reconcile with to make my life back to normal again

Anna Macdonald
She was not impressed when you left, and I ‘m not sure that she has ever forgiven you. She's a stubborn girl

Brandon Macdonald
You think I don't know that? We were best friends since I was like, seven years old

Anna Macdonald
I know, I know, I just don't want you to go see her and expect forgiveness as easy as I gave it to you

Brandon Macdonald
I don't expect her to forgive me, I just need to apologize. This is for my soul, I need to do this

Anna Macdonald
Okay. I know what you mean. Do you know where she lives?

Brandon Macdonald
Actually, I was hoping that you knew

Well, I just know that she lives in Los Angeles somewhere, I don't exactly know where

Brandon Macdonald
She must be doing pretty well if she's living in L.A

Anna Macdonald
Well, apparently she's good at her job, and is pretty popular

Brandon Macdonald

Anna Macdonald
Well, she makes a good amount of money in her line of work

Yeah. Well, I'm going to L.A I guess

Does she know that we're married?

Anna Macdonald
I don't know. I haven't really talked to her in awhile, she left for L.A. a few years after you left.

Brandon Macdonald
Alright, well, I'll say hi for you

Brandon Macdonald
Yeah?

Anna Macdonald
If she doesn't want anything to do with you, just take it. She has every reason to be mad at you

Brandon Macdonald
I know. I'll call you later

Anna Macdonald
Sounds good

I watch Brandon head for the garage. I can hear him start up the car and drive off towards the airport. I go back to reading the newspaper. Nothing really big in the news. I get up and go the weight room. There are a few people already down there, workers from around the house.

I walk into the change-room, and change into some gym clothes that I have down in the lockers. I walk back out and hop on a treadmill. I start it up, and began to run at a pretty quick pace. I'm in pretty good shape, for someone who doesn't really do sports. I can play mostly all sports, but I don't really do them. The only sport that I really do now is wrestling. And that's because Brandon trains me in it. Along with some of his fight team, when they get the chance. I'm learning a lot, I almost feel like I'm ready to wrestle someone for real. But we'll see.

I continue to run on the treadmill for almost forty-five minutes. I get off and grab a drink of water. I go over to the side of the room, and begin to do some stretches and abdominal workouts. The whole time, I can't help but think about Brandon. He's off to Los Angeles, to look for his old best friend, Keagan Davis-Brown. They were best friends for basically their entire lives. He knew her way before we were together. They went to school together, they grew up together. They were basically inseparable for their entire lives. Even with when he was dating me, Brandon found time for Keagan. Hell, I had done, well, certain stuff together with them as teenagers. We were the closest any three friends could be. But I was always worried that he had more than friends feelings for Keagan. I mean, I wouldn't blame him if he did. She was extremely attractive, and knew it. Her outfits always showed off her body. She dressed to impress. And she certainly impressed a lot of boys. But to this day, I don't know if she and Brandon had ever done anything together that I wasn't aware. I don't believe he did, but sometimes I question myself. I mean, his best friend was one of the hottest girls at school, and obviously he recognized that. But I loved Brandon, and still do. So I trust him. I just can't help but wonder sometimes.

I finish my workout, and head to the showers in the change-room, making sure nobody is in there first. Since it is a house, we didn't bother with a men and women change-room, its just the one. And I'm not one to parade around naked for people who work for me. There's no one in the change-room, and I make sure that nobody comes in for a bit. I strip down and hop in the shower. As I wash my body, cleaning off the sticky sweat, I can't help but think of how great it's been with Brandon. Why am I worried about him cheating on me with Keagan, or anything like that? He's been greater to me these last three months than he ever was when we dated. If it weren't for him, I'd still be living alone, a complete and total wreck. I owe my life to him right now. Not only that, but the stuff he has done with me has clearly shown his love for me. I don't know why I get these thoughts in my head sometimes. I just do. Oh well.

I grab a towel and wrap it around my body. I grab another one, and wrap up my hair with it. I walk upstairs, up into my bedroom, and into my closet. I put on a tight pair of jeans, and a nice shirt. I have a meeting with UFC President Dana White today. I want to make sure that I look good.

I walk downstairs, and out into the backyard. It's finally clean again. After the wedding, when it was completely trashed, we had hired the construction workers, who had been making the arena, to clean it for us. They had replaced our fountain, our statues, everything that was broken. They had even planted new grass. It looks beautiful again.

I walk into the arena, and into one of the offices, which I use for all of my business stuff. I sit down at my desk and look over all kinds of files. I begin to write stuff down, Fight the World stuff, things for WE, arena bookings. I look over the schedule. What an idea this was. Brandon had spent a lot of money to build this giant arena beside their house. But the investment immediately became worth it when bands, artists, and other things began to call up trying to book things at the arena. They had made a wall around their house, complete with cameras and bodyguards, so that there was no way any unruly fans could get into our house.

I hear a knock at the door. I look up and see Dana, standing in the doorway.

Dana White
Mrs. Macdonald. Great to see you!

Anna Macdonald
It's good to see you too Dana. How are you today?

Dana White
I'm alright. Could be better, but hey, this is what I do

Anna Macdonald
Long time away from the family?

Dana White
Oh god yeah, too much travelling.

Anna Macdonald
Yeah, sometimes I know what you mean. We have to fly out to Abu Dhabi in a few days, then back here. Brandon is travelling even more

Dana White
Speaking of Brandon, where is he? I was hoping to talk to him

Anna Macdonald
He actually flew to Los Angeles this morning

Dana White
Really? Why is that?

Anna Macdonald
He went to meet a really old friend of his

Dana White
Oh really? What's his/her name?

Anna Macdonald
Well, it's her, and it's either Keagan, or Kitty, depending on who you ask

Dana White
You lost me Anna

Anna Macdonald
Well, she's an...adult film actress. So she uses Kitty for that

Dana White
Her name isn't Kitty Sin, is it?

Anna Macdonald
Yeah, actually, it is

Dana White
Wow, you're kidding! Brandon is friends with her?

Yeah, they were best friends growing up in high school, before he moved away

I'll bet she is. Except I'm a girl, so I don't really think that

Dana White
Right. Sorry, I get carried away sometimes. I just remember her at one party once

Anna Macdonald
She was at a party with you?

Dana White
Yeah, twice. A bunch of people from their crew came an partied after UFC 60 and UFC 104. I just remember her because she was with Spencer Fisher both times.

Anna Macdonald
Oh god, she didn't, did she?

Dana White
No idea. They seemed to be getting along very well, and she was wearing next to nothing. And he was really happy the next day

Anna Macdonald
Yeah, that's what she does. Whatever. But yeah, that's where Brandon is

Dana White
I see. Alright, so, business time

Anna Macdonald
Of course. So you want to host an event here?

Dana White
We do. Since we are going to have huge success this weekend in Montreal, and we anticipate insane numbers for UFC 131, we'd like to fast track another Ontario event. We want UFC 132 to be held here

Anna Macdonald
What date is that?

Dana pulls out his iPhone

Dana White
That is....July 2nd

I look over a schedule that I have written out. That weekend is completely free

Anna Macdonald
Yeah, that weekend should work.

Dana White
Superb. So I'll make sure we get in touch when the date is closer. We just wanted to make sure that you didn't book anything on that day

Anna Macdonald
So I take it you have no clue who will be on the card yet?

Dana White
Nope. We would like a Canadian, and since that is too long to wait for Georges to fight again, it probably won't be him. Which is why I wanted to talk to Brandon

Anna Macdonald
You want him to fight, don't you?

Dana White
We were hoping he'd consider it

Anna Macdonald
Against who? Not Rashad, he won't do it

Dana White
No. We were hoping he'd fight Rampage. That's a money fight

Anna Macdonald
Hmm. Well, I'm sure he'll consider it. He's also playing football, remember? But you don't need to know for a while right?

Dana White
Nope, it can wait

Anna Macdonald
Oh, and also, Brandon wanted me to tell you. He's sorry, but he can't coach on the Ultimate Fighter this season. He said he's way too busy

Dana White
That's fine, I wasn't expecting him to really

Anna Macdonald
Alright. Hopefully we'll talk again soon

I hope so

I get up and walk over to Dana, and give him a quick hug.

Anna Macdonald
Hopefully you can get some rest and family time soon Dana

You don't know how badly I'm looking forward to it

Dana walks out of the office and back out one of the doors. I sit down and go over some more paperwork. I sit there and go over everything, from finances, to scheduling. Eventually, after god knows how long, I look up at the clock. It's nearly nine o'clock. I get up and lock up the office. There is a Harlem Globetrotters game going on at the time, but i don't really feel like watching. Besides, Brandon should be coming home really soon. I walk outside into the house. I go to the couch and sit down. I close my eyes, and drift off.

I open my eyes, as I hear someone coming into the house

Brandon Macdonald
Anna, I'm home

Anna Macdonald
I'm in the living room. How did it go?

Brandon Macdonald
Better than I expected

Anna Macdonald
Did she forgive you?

Brandon Macdonald
I don't know. Why don't you ask her

I look up at him, and see a giant smile on his face. I look over beside him, and see an older Keagan, standing beside him, grinning from ear to ear.

Anna Macdonald
KEAGAN!

I jump off of the couch, and run over to Keagan, wrapping her in a giant hug.

Keagan Davis-Brown
It's good to see you too Anna

Anna Macdonald
Oh my god, it's been too long

Keagan Davis-Brown
It sure has. I missed you

I look around and see all of the bags lying on the ground, and in Brandon's hands. I look up at the two of them

Anna Macdonald
What's going on?

Brandon Macdonald
Well, Keagan was living a pretty shitty life. She didn't really want to be a porn star anymore. So I offered her a job at WE, and to live in our house

Keagan Davis-Brown
I hope you don't mind

I look at the two of them, and then smile

Anna Macdonald
Of course I don't mind. I love you Keagan. It'll be great to have someone else in the house. Especially another girl, since Brandon already has his friend living here.

Keagan Davis-Brown
Who's that?

Brandon Macdonald
My friend Patrick. He actually works the bowling alley here, he sort-of, came with the house

Keagan Davis-Brown

She's still the same Keagan. Only thinking about guys and sex

I've just spent the last five years of my life having sex with hundreds of different men and never went on more than one date with anyone. Give me a break

I'm just kidding around Keagan. We love you. And yes, he's pretty attractive. Not as attractive as Brandon though

Keagan Davis-Brown

Keagan points at Brandon, who runs at her and picks her up. He carries her to the couch, and drops her down onto it. I run over to him and tackle him onto the couch. I feel him trying to shake me off, but I keep holding him down. Keagan gets up and helps hold him down too.

Alright, girls win, girls win

Yes!

It's like we're teenagers again

Well we both know that we never grew up. Keagan became a porn star, so she obviously didn't grow up either

We walk upstairs, helping Keagan carry all of her stuff. We go into the nice room, better than all rooms but mine and Brandon's. I help her unpack quickly.

Alright, so we get up pretty early, because we have to take our son to school, but feel free to sleep in until whenever. Seeing as it's your first night living with us

Keagan Davis-Brown
I'll be up early with you. I'm used to it

Okay. Sounds good. Tomorrow we'll go shopping

I walk with Brandon into our room. I take off my clothes and hop into bed with him. I look over at Brandon, who has a sort of, far away look in his eyes.

You really want her around didn't you?

He rolls over and looks at me. He has a sad look in his eyes

Brandon Macdonald
She's my best friend. Of course I did

I look at him. As much as I don't want to, I need to ask him. For my own sake. I can't help myself. I just have to ask.

Anna Macdonald
Did you ever like her as more than a friend? Be honest

Brandon Macdonald
Before I met you, we tried to date, but it didn't work. Being such good friends, it just didn't work. Then I met you, and everything was perfect. We stayed good friends.

Anna Macdonald
But you honestly haven't wanted anything more from her since you've been dating me?

I could feel Brandon grab my hands from underneath the bed sheets

Brandon Macdonald
Anna. I swear on our marriage that ever since I started dating you, Keagan has just been a friend. Nothing more.

I believe him

Okay. I believe you. I just know that you two are so comfortable with each other, so great together, you'd actually make a good couple

Brandon Macdonald
Maybe. But it didn't work once, and then I met the greatest girl who ever lived

He leans over and kisses me on the lips. I kiss him back. He breaks the kiss and I smile at him.

Anna Macdonald

Lets go to sleep. We have a big day ahead of us.

I lay my head down on the pillow. I wrap my arms around Brandon's bare, muscular chest. I'm glad he was honest. I believed him when he said that he didn't have those kinds of feelings for Keagan anymore. Obviously, if you are that good friends, at that young an age, you are going to want to experiment with dating. And it didn't work out, it rarely does. But then we found each other, and that was perfect. Our lives are perfect, nothing can change that. Keagan living in the house is actually a good thing. I'm happy that I have another girl here. Especially one who I was such good friends with as a teenager. We shared everything together. We had even, on occasion, shared Brandon. Too much to drink, clearly. But I'm not going to lie and say that it wasn't fun. But would I ever do it again? Not sober, that's for sure. Besides, Keagan will probably be all over Patrick, since he is pretty attractive. Not Brandon attractive, but he's good. Keagan will definitely like him. I should try to get them started. I think I will invite him to come shopping. If Keagan has half of the boy-getting skill that she had in high-school, then she'll be able to get him, no problem. I close my eyes and hug Brandon tighter. I'm so glad I have him. I love my life, I love my friends, and most of all, I love my husband.

So Anna Stone, tell us about your match with Catelyn Vaine at the IWF vs WEW event? Did you think you’d be able to beat her going into it?

Anna Stone
What kind of a question is that? Of course I thought I could beat her, why would I even fight if I didn’t think I could beat every opponent that’s put in front of me? Obviously you’ve never been in a wrestling match or really any kind of athletic activity ever, have you? Because if you had, you’d know that you always expect to win every match. So yeah, I expected to beat Catelyn. I trained hard, was totally ready. And hey, a tie is a tie. I’m not disappointed with that. Catelyn really earned my respect in our match. She was way better than I expected, and I really had to work hard to just come out with a draw. I feel like I could win again if we fought, but hey, that’s just my opinion. She was great; it’s too bad she’s over in that shit promotion WEW, and not over here in the IWF. She’d be a lot better over here.

Reporter
So you still fully support the IWF obviously, right?

Anna Stone
Of course! Did you miss IWF vs WEW or something? We crushed them! Eight wins, four losses? We had four of five Team IWF members survive in the team match. They came in expecting to walk all over us, and they fell flat on their faces. I would be embarrassed if I was in WEW after that weak performance. We proved to the world why we’re the best wrestling company out there. WEW underestimated us, but in the end, we showed them the truth. That they just aren’t that good. So yeah, I’ll continue to support the IWF until I feel like it’s not good enough to defend. But that’s never going to happen, especially because I’m here.

Reporter
So tell us a bit about your last IWF match, against Kadri, Nikki and Karly? And what about this big match at Isolation between you and Kadri?

Anna Stone
I think it’s dumb. Like I don’t care who I fight or anything, but I won that match, and everyone knows it. That’s why I still have the title. That’s why I’m still the champion. Because I’m way better than anyone else. You saw in that match. Because of Karly’s injury, she couldn’t do much. As I’ve said before, I don’t really care about that, because she tried so hard and I love her for it. But it was basically Nikki and Kadri against me in that match. And I fought both of them off, and took out Kadri. She was so weak that she had to go and pin an injured Karly, just because she knew that she couldn’t beat either Nikki or myself. It was a weak move, and really showed how scared she is of me. I feel bad for James Shark, because he’s like, so confident and stuff, and he deserves a girl who is just as talented and confident as him. But Kadri isn’t that, but somehow he thought it was a good idea to marry her. And I’ll never understand why he did that. But oh well, I don’t really care. Besides, I’m going to beat her little face in at Isolation, one on one. So she can’t escape by pinning someone else like she did this time. She’s going to have to actually beat me, which I know she just can’t do.

What about your match this week? You get to fight Ryan Apollos?

Anna Stone
Please. That’s not even a match. Ryan Apollos is not even a wrestler. I do not have a clue how he’s still signed to the IWF. All he does is lose, badly. He gets so much hype when he comes back for a match after some long time off, then he gets beat badly. Although he did beat Steel Angel, which was really funny. But that’s only because Steel sucks. Like a lot too. So it’s not like Ryan was impressive in that match or anything. I’ve never seen Ryan Apollos do anything that was noteworthy ever. Not once in my life. So I know I’m going to beat him, easily. I’m a much better wrestler than he ever was, and ever will be. He’s just terrible, so I have no worries about beating him. I have no interest in losing out on my win streak, and I know that the biggest failure in wrestling history isn’t going to end it. I’ve got one more win this week, and I’m going to keep winning until I beat Kadri at Isolation and defend my title yet again.
